Abstract
This research work deals with Zaragoza’s silversmiths during the 18th century. Their artistic production has already been studied in depth. We will be focusing on this guild’s demographic, social and economic aspects, drawing our attention to its members and their families. New sources are used: ecclesiastical, tax and judicial ones. As we can see, the number of guild members had continuity during the century as well as a precarious economic situation. As a consequence, they had to dedicate to other activities, almost always agrarian, to complement their income. Last, it can be confirmed that a well-known dynasty of jewelers appeared along these years living until the end of the 20th century: the Aladrén.
