El texto es una aproximación a la evolución formal y conceptual de las artes efímeras del banquete cortesano y aristocrático en España, entre los siglos XVI y XVIII. Se analiza el papel desempeñado por la lencería de mesa y la escultura en azúcar en la ornamentación de mesas y aparadores (credenze, buffets), abordando cuestiones como: la recepción del arte de la divina piegatura, el repertorio iconográfico de trionfi / surtouts / ramilletes y la interacción de la obra efímera en azúcar o lino con materiales de moda como las bases de espejo y las figuras de porcelana.

Abstract

This text is a first approach to the formal and conceptual evolution of the ephemeral arts of the court and aristocratic banquet in Spain, between the 16th and 18th centuries. The role of table cloths and sugar sculptures in the ornamentation of tables and sideboards are analyzed (credenze, buffets). Relevant issues in this context are discussed such as the reception of the ‘divina piegatura’, the iconography of dessert settings (trionfi / surtouts / ramilletes) and the interaction of sugar and wax paste or linen ephemera with fashion materials such as mirror plateaux and porcelan figures.
